The University of Nottingham Ningbo China warmly invites you for the 12th Annual International Conference of the Chinese Association for Intercultural Communication (CAFIC) on Thursday 22nd June and Friday 23rd June 2017. Hosted by the School of English in the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, the conference will bring together scholars working in different strands of Intercultural Communication research from across China and abroad for two days of interdisciplinary exchange in an international environment.

 

Theme: Research, pedagogies and practices in intercultural communication

Date: June 22-23, 2017

Call for Abstracts

You are welcome to submit abstracts of 300 words maximum in English, reporting empirical research into areas of Intercultural Communication. The conference is oriented towards multi-disciplinary perspectives, but we particularly welcome presentations with a focus around any of four main conference themes:

Intercultural Communication research and practices in education and social sciences

The teaching and learning of Intercultural Communication in courses for English majors and College English

Teaching and pedagogic practices of Intercultural Communication for Business English, English for Academic Purposes and in other languages

Intercultural Communication and media studies

 

Your abstracts must be submitted to: CAFIC-UNNC@nottingham.edu.cn

 

Due to the requests of many potential participants to the conference and the holiday time during the Chinese New Year period, the submission date of the abstract is extended to February 19, 2017. Please make sure to submit your abstract in English.

 

Confirmation of receipt of your submission will be sent automatically. Notification of acceptance will be sent by March 6, 2017.

 

 

Full Paper Submission Information

This conference plans to produce two volume publications by established international publishers. In order to have your paper considered for these volumes, we require a completed chapter with no more than 5000 words in English by June 7 2017. However if your paper is considered to be accepted for the publication, further modification upon the requests of the editors and publishers may be required. Your paper should contain the following elements:

• The contextual information and main argument or issues of your research

• A theoretical framework related to the focus of your research

• Your research methods for data collection and analysis

• Main findings and implications

• References (using the Harvard referencing system; please check, for example, http://www.citethisforme.com/harvard-referencing )
