摘要:本研究探讨了三名应用语言学专业硕士研究生学写论文提案的经历;分析了他们在整个过程中遇到的问题及采用的策略。本研究收集了多种数据;包括访谈、课堂观察和提案展示材料。数据分析发现在论文提案写作的过程中;学生在选择研究课题、设计研究方案、综述文献回顾方面遇到很多困难。但是;通过与导师讨论、与同学交流及观摩同学的提案展示;三名学生逐渐理解了论文提案的要求并按时完成了论文提案的撰写。本研究的发现表明学术英语写作能力的提高需要系统清晰的学术英语写作教学及合作式的师生关系。
This study explores how three EFL graduate students of applied linguistics learned to write their MA thesis proposals in English in a graduate course named "thesis research design".Multiple sources of evidences were collected,including interviews,classroom observations,and presentation profiles.Data analyses show that the students encountered tremendous difficulties in selecting a research topic,designing the proposed research,and doing literature review in the process of writing their thesis proposals.However,through discussing with their supervisors and peers,and observing their peers’ presentations on research proposals,they gradually understood the requirements of thesis proposals and were able to complete their writing of research proposals within the time limit.This study indicates that the development of academic English writing ability needs systematic and clear instructions of academic English writing and collaborative relationship between instructors or supervisors and students.
