Ying Wang is Lecturer in Applied Linguistics at the University of Southampton, UK. Her research interests include ELF, global Englishes, language attitude and identity, language policy and English education. She has presented her research on all these areas in different international conferences. Her article Non-conformity to ENL norms: a perspective from Chinese English users is published in Journal of English as a Lingua Franca and is reprinted in Global Englishes, a university coursebook written by Jennifer Jenkins (Routledge 2015). Her article Language awareness and ELF perceptions of Chinese university students is included in International perspectives on English as lingua franca: pedagogical insights co-edited by Hugo Bowles and Alessia Cogo (Palgrave Macmillan 2015). She is currently designing modules as part of MA Global Englishes programme and part of MA International Communication programme.
