摘要:本文首先对英语通用语(ELF)理论研究成果进行了系统梳理,内容涉及ELF的内涵、ELF和EFL(英语作为外语)两种范式的差异、ELF理论在英语教学中的应用等,进而探讨了ELF理论与大学英语教学的关联,并且尝试以大学英语听说教学为例,从教学目标、教学内容、教学方法和教学评估四个方面阐述了如何实施基于英语通用语理论的教学,以期优化大学英语教学效果,全面提升我国大学生在国际交流中英语口语表达的有效性。
The paper first provides a review on the research in the field of English as a Lingua Franca, which mainly focuses on the definition of ELF, the differences between ELF and EFL, and its implication for language teaching. On the basis of the
review, the authors further discuss the interrelation between ELF and College English,then propose ELF-oriented college English listening and speaking instruction, in terms of teaching objectives,teaching contents,teaching methods and assessment, with the aim of optimizing the teaching efficacy and enhancing college students' oral English communicative competence in intercultural communications.
