外语学习文化是指某群体因受体民族文化背景而形成的有关外语学习的本土视角,目前已成为国外学界的讨论的热点。本文重点分析了该概念的提出背景、内涵、与相关概念的区别,并对其进行了批判性思考。随后梳理了国内外相关研究的三大主题:外语学习文化的对比、文化传统与外语学习,以及外语学习文化差异的处理。最后,本文讨论了未来的研究方向,尤其强调了中国情境下开展外语学习文化研究的必要性。
The concept,“cultures of learning”, refers to a group of learners’collective beliefs and attitudes in language learning shaped by their cultural background. It has become a heated topic in international research on language education. This review focuses on the notion’s genesis, definition, distinction from similar concepts and its possible limitations. Three major themes are identified in the review, namely the comparison of cultures of learning in different areas; the relationship between cultural roots and foreign language learning; and the treatment of differences in cultures of learning. After a brief analysis of some future trends, this paper concludes that it is necessary to undertake more research on it in China.
