摘要:反馈语使用是交际中常见的会话策略之一;如何使用反馈语涉及语义、语用等多重因素。本研究以MICASE为参照语料库;分析中国非英语专业本科生和研究生口语语料中的反馈语特征。研究发现;与英语本族语者相比;中国英语学习者总体上使用反馈语偏少;尤其是话轮内部反馈语;肯定性反馈语被误用为延续性反馈语;反馈语使用存在语用石化倾向。研究最后指出;提高学习者的反馈语语用意识是促进交际顺畅进行的重要一环。
Backchannels are common discourse strategies in communication.They,however,attract little attention these years due to their various pragmatic implications.This study focuses on the backchannel use of Chinese non-English major undergraduate and graduate students,with MICASE-Seminar as a reference corpus.It shows that EFL students generally don’t employ backchannels as frequently as native speakers,turn-internal backchannels in particular;positive backchannels are misused as continuous ones,which may lead to misunderstanding;such misuses are prevalent in the undergraduate and graduate student corpora,indicating a tendency of pragmatic fossilization.In the end,the study suggests that raising students’ pragmatic awareness of backchannel use may slow down or even stop the fossilization process and facilitate communication.
